Core Humanitarian Standard for Q&A Focal Points Training
Purpose
This seven weeks course aims to equip CHS and/or Quality and Accountability Focal Points with the knowledge, skills and good practices required to deliver their role effectively with regard to enhancing the CHS implementation within their organisation.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for humanitarian staff who have CHS and/or Quality & Accountability focal point functions within their organisation. It requires participants to have good knowledge and experience of quality and accountability toward affected communities and people. Previous knowledge of the Core Humanitarian Standard is required.
Course Topics
- The place of the CHS within the broader humanitarian system and its importance for organisations
- Reflecting on where your organisation is at with the CHS and sharing with, and learning from, other focal points
- How change happens within the organisation and what skills set is required
- Understanding your role as a Focal Point, and an opportunity to develop your personal skill set in areas that are critical to your role
- Tips and tricks on verification, improvement plans, and monitoring and evidencing your progresses.
Course format
The course will be delivered over a period of 7 weeks and will take place remotely using blended learning methods, including:
- Bitesize self-learning modules that fit within your working days
- Four facilitated session to learn, brainstorm and share experience with facilitators and other participants
- Assignments which provide the space for self- and peer learning
- Chat space to exchange with others outside of facilitated sessions
The course will be facilitated by trainers who bring strong experienced of working on CHS implementation, verification, and workshop facilitation.
Live sessions will be delivered on Zoom. Self-learning material will be available on our learning platform.

Certificate
A certificate of completion will be provided to participants who will have attended the live sessions, completed the minimum requirement for self-learning modules, and submitted their assignments.
