Call for applications: HHR2021 Steering Committee Members

CHS Alliance is recruiting individuals to join the HHR2021 Steering Committee.

As with every Humanitarian Human Resources (HHR) conference, we are seeking enthusiastic and committed HR experts, who are keen to devote some of their time and energy to support and guide the planning of the virtual event. Please note that these are voluntary positions.

HHR2021 will take place 28-30 June 2021, online.

Application Deadline: 17:00 CEST, 31 March 2021.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. To work with the CHS Alliance HHR conference lead to carry out on-going work planned and agreed by the Steering Committee in line with the workplan, to deliver the mission of HHR2021.
  2. To attend (approximately) monthly online meetings and actively participate in discussions around, and promotion of, the conference.
  3. To contribute to the development of resource documents, give recommendations relevant to the conference agenda and choose topics for discussion.
  4. To suggest subject matter experts and speakers.
  5. To register and participate in HHR2021.
  6. To identify and share opportunities to advance Commitment 8 of the CHS.
  7. Steering Committee members may be requested to (co)facilitate a part of the conference and to contribute to post-event reporting and evaluation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Experience with planning and facilitating online events.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of HR practice and vision, networking, a basic understanding of events, problem solving, negotiation, multi-tasking, creativity, leadership, planning and sharing knowledge.
  • Evidence of their professional achievements from existing references, online videos, reports, publications, blogs, etc.
  • Good communication skills in English, IT literate and technologically savvy.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities, including an eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated drive and initiative, a self-starter with a can-do attitude with the ability to work autonomously and in teams, and in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Available to commit 2 days a month to virtual meetings and event marketing activities.

  • An email expressing your interest in the role, and ideas on where you feel you could contribute to HHR2021.
  • A CV demonstrating suitability for the role, based on the qualifications and competencies outlined above.
