Overview

This session is offered as part of the CHS learning package to CHS Alliance members. It is therefore reserved to staff from CHS Alliance member organisations.

Content

In this 3-hour session, we will go over minimum expectations we want to have of humanitarian aid and how the CHS supports staff and organisations in fullfilling these expectations. Particular attention will be paid to how the CHS relates to everyone’s role in an organisation.

Participants

The workshop is designed for anyone working for a CHS Alliance member organisation, who is new to CHS and would like to gain an initial overview. This can include, but is not restricted to:

  • Staff of organisations that recently joined the CHS Alliance
  • Staff that are new to CHS Alliance member organisations and are generally unfamiliar with the CHS.
  • CHS Focal Points who would like to get inspired on training approaches for new staff

This session is open to all areas of work within CHS Alliance member organisations, including finance, HR, procurement & logistic, programmes, etc.

Training objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the purpose and importance of the CHS
  • Recall some of the commitments in the CHS and what they relate to
  • Explain why the CHS is structured the way it is
  • List some of the potential users of the CHS and why it is relevant for them

This session is designed to be highly interactive. Through small group discussions, participants will explore notions of quality and accountability and application of the CHS through their own perspective and that of their peers.

Schedule and registration

This training session is offered remotely on a quarterly basis to CHS Alliance members. Sessions are advertised through the CHS Alliance newsletter as well as to CHS Alliance members registered focal points.
