We’re looking for a consultant to help us scope a CHS Duty of Care Index.

In 2025, more aid workers were killed, injured, kidnapped or detained than in any year on record, and 97% of those killed, injured or abducted were national staff. Duty of care needs to reach national and local staff, and the funding needs to come with it.

The Core Humanitarian Standard already asks organisations to keep their staff and volunteers safe, look after their wellbeing, and treat them fairly. The Index will bring those requirements together into one benchmark, like our PSEAH Index.

We’re looking for someone with deep experience in humanitarian HR, staff care, security or accountability, who knows the CHS well. Teams are welcome.

Apply by 3 November. Full TOR below.
