CHS Alliance and The Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation – Uganda (TPO Uganda) are pleased to invite you to the online workshop on “Bringing the CHS closer to People Affected by Crisis in Uganda” on 14 June 2022, 11.00 – 13.00  Uganda local time. 

In the past few years, interest in the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) and verification has significantly grown and today the Standard is widely recognised as a measurable framework that sets out the essential elements for principled humanitarian action.

However, to reach the standard we have set for ourselves, the CHS needs to be widely owned, applied and supported by national and local actors – those who are closest to the people and communities affected by crises – as well as international actors.

As highlighted in the its strategy for 2022- 2025, CHS Alliance, together with its members and partners are continuing their efforts to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis. As part of this effort, this workshop aims to generate learning with NNGOs in Uganda on how to increase their engagement with the CHS and the CHS Alliance. We will discuss the importance of Quality and Accountability in the Uganda context, share experience of application of the CHS and explore opportunities and challenges of applying the CHS in Uganda.

As a representative of an actor in Uganda working to serve people and communities, and committed to quality and accountability, you are invited to take part of this a 120 minute interactive workshop and share your knowledge and insights with us on how to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis in Uganda.
