CHS Alliance and Taakulo Somali Community  – in collaboration with NGO networks in Somalia (including Somali NGO Consortium) – are pleased to invite you to the Somalia online workshop on “Bringing the CHS Closer to People Affected by Crises” on 9 February 2023, 10.00 – 12.00 Somalia local time.

In the past few years, interest in the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) and verification has significantly grown and today the Standard is widely recognized as a measurable framework that sets out the essential elements for principled humanitarian action.

However, to reach the standard we have set for ourselves, the CHS needs to be widely owned, applied, and supported by national and local actors – those who are closest to the people and communities affected by crises – as well as international actors.

As highlighted in its strategy for 2022- 2025, CHS Alliance, together with its members and partners, are continuing their efforts to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crises. As part of this effort, this workshop aims to generate learning with NNGOs in Somalia on how to increase their engagement with the CHS and the CHS Alliance. We will discuss the importance of, and progress made on Quality and Accountability and local leadership in the Somalia context, share experience of application of the CHS and explore opportunities and challenges of applying the CHS in Somalia.

As a representative of an actor in Somalia working to serve people and communities, and engaged on quality and accountability, you are invited to take part in this 2-hour interactive workshop and share your knowledge and insights with us on how to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis in Somalia.

Please REGISTER HERE. You will receive the connection details after registration. The session will be held in English with possibility to use Somali and Arabic during the workshop and in breakout sessions. Please indicate any specific need as necessary when registering.

Please note that the CHS is being revised. To learn more about the CHS revision process and contribute, please see
