CHS Alliance and All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) are pleased to invite you to the online workshop on

Bringing the CHS closer to People We Serve in India” – Raising locally-led Organisations’ Critical Role for Quality and Accountability

on 26 October 2021 11.30 – 13.00  (India local time)

In the past few years, interest in the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) and verification has significantly grown and today the Standard is widely recognised as a measurable framework that sets out the essential elements for principled humanitarian action.

However, to reach the standard we have set for ourselves, the CHS needs to be widely owned, applied and supported by national and local actors – those who are closest to the people and communities affected by crises – as well as international actors.

CHS Alliance, together with its members and partners are reinforcing efforts to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis. As part of these efforts, this workshop is to generate learning with NNGO Networks and their members in India on how to increase their engagement with the CHS and the CHS Alliance. We will discuss the importance of Quality and Accountability in India context, share experience of application of the CHS and explore opportunities and challenges of applying the CHS in India and maximise its potential to support localisation agenda.

As a representative of an Indian NNGO network or actor working to serve people and communities, and committed to quality and accountability, you are expertly placed to take part of this a 90 minute interactive workshop and share your knowledge and insights with us on how to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis and support the localisation agenda in India.

If you have any questions, please contact Mihir Bhatt mihir@aidmi.org or Bonaventure Sokpoh bsokpoh@chsalliance.org.

We look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
