Aim of the organisation

The Danish Foreign Service comprises the Ministry in Copenhagen and a global network abroad of Embassies, Consulates-General and Trade Commissions.

Organisation activities

Over the years, Danida has supported a number of Danish NGOs working with humanitarian assistance programmes in Palestine.

These include DanChurchAid, Danish Red Cross and Save the Children Denmark - all being Danida framework organisations. The NGOs provide assistance to the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas including the Bedouin communities is area C in the West Bank and psychosocial support for children in Gaza.

Additionally, Denmark has continuously supported the Palestinian refugees, which constitute close to half of Palestine’s population. Denmark is one of the largest donors to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). As a member of the Agency’s Advisory Commission, Denmark supports UNRWA with a significant and stabil annual core contribution.

Finally, Denmark supports the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) through framework agreements.
