Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

Aim of the organisation

The overall goal of ESD is to contribute to the national endeavor of empowering the youth, children, and women to be self-reliant. To meet this goal, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) has been implementing 6 programs: Early Childhood Development (ECD), Education, Girls and Women Empowerment, Youth Skills Development and Job Creation, Environment Protection and Renewable Energy (EPRE), and Emergency Response and Resilience (ERR). ESD’s theory of change indicates its development trajectory that aims at empowering the youth, children, and women to be self-reliant and thereby envisioning to see Ethiopia with an empowered community by improving child-wellbeing, increasing women & girls’ opportunities for a better life, improving quality education to have competent generation, enhancing livelihood capacity of the youth and make it to be self-reliant, improving utilization of renewable energy and agricultural practices and through ensuring humanitarian support.
