General Assembly Zoom details

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2025 General Assembly.

This year marks a significant milestone in the drive for making aid more accountable, effective and safe.  CHS Alliance has reached its 10th anniversary and as we mark this milestone, we are delighted to see a growing network of 250+ members, with over 50% local or national NGOs. As a network we are grappling  with crises across the humanitarian space, from brutal cuts and shifting priorities to a shrinking of civil society space.

During the Assembly we discussed what was needed for a strategy, Statutes and a Verification Scheme that would meet today’s challenges. Thanks to our members for their continued input during this challenging year.

The CHS Alliance General Assembly 2025 slide deck is now available. Please contact us on ga@chsalliance.org with any questions.

Voting

Thanks to all our members for voting. We are delighted to share the appointment of three new members to the Governing Board and approval of the following key documents:

Appointed:  Three new Governing Board members

Thanks to everyone who took part in the elections this year, especially to the candidates who showed great commitment to our collective vision. We have now appointed the following candidates to our Board :

  • Ms. Marie Claire Dejean Pannier (Danish Refugee Council), HR
  • Ms. Nancy Etté (independent), Finance
  • Ms. Nour Jarrouj (independent), Person Affected by a Humanitarian Crisis

Approved: Auditors: Move to limited Audit and new auditors

The CHS Alliance proposed moving from a full scope audit to a limited scope audit, driven by a combination of financial, operational, and governance considerations. The move will not compromise transparency or accountability but ensures resources are used proportionately, with the option to return to a full audit should circumstances or donor requirements change. The suggested auditor for this new limited auditor was proposed for endorsement by the General Assembly and has now been approved.

Approved: New strategy to guide the work of the Alliance

Our new strategy, for 2026- 2030 strategy, was presented for endorsement and has now been approved by our members.  Thanks to all the members who contributed to the development of this updated strategy.

Approved: Updated Statutes – Seven motions to update the current Statutes

Updated Statutes have now been approved which include changes to membership categories and statutory committees, as well as updates to meet the current operational context of the Alliance.

CHS Verification Scheme Update

The Verification Scheme is being updated to better meet the needs of a growing and diverse range of organisations, while also enhancing recognition with donors and partners. At the General Assembly we presented those changes and answered a number of questions.
