As a network dedicated to greater accountability in the aid sector, effective governance is critical.

The CHS Alliance Board brings together a diverse and talented set of individuals who play a critical role in overseeing the work of the Alliance, ensuring its strong governance and providing expertise to support its mission.

In 2026 six (6) seats are open for election. Among those seats, the Board is looking for:

  • Four (4) full member representatives
  • Two (2) independent Board members with lived experience of humanitarian assistance (this role must be independent of a CHS Alliance member and in line with this Terms of Reference)

For this election, we are particularly looking for:

  • Understanding of, and engagement in, major humanitarian policy discussions
  • Expertise and skills in the areas of financial literacy and human resources
  • Experience in complaints, investigations and safeguarding
  • Leadership of humanitarian programming

in addition to the skills and experience as outlined in the nominations pack.

Election Timings
  • 23 March 2026: Nominations close, nominations acknowledge in the week following
  • 13 April 2026: Focal points notified of candidates on
  • 20 April 2026: Voting opens
  • 22 May 2026: Voting closes
  • 26 May 2026: Election results will be announced via General Assembly
  • June: Elected candidates will join the June Board meeting.

Voting Process

Please note that there is only one vote per organisation, and members must be in good financial standing with the CHS Alliance.  If you need to change your delegated membership voting focal point, please use this voting rights form.

Nominations

Nominations are now closed. The process to nominate and elect members of the CHS Alliance Board was in accordance with the CHS Alliance Statutes and CHS Alliance Board election process.  Full information is available in our CHS Alliance 2026 Board Elections Nominations Pack  Each CHS Alliance member was invited to submit one nomination only for the CHS Alliance Board using the nomination form.
