As a network dedicated to greater accountability in the aid sector, effective governance is critical.
The CHS Alliance Board brings together a diverse and talented set of individuals who play a critical role in overseeing the work of the Alliance, ensuring its strong governance and providing expertise to support its mission.
In 2026 five (5) seats will be open for election. Among those seats, the Board is looking for:
- Four (4) full member representatives
- One (1) independent Board members with lived experience of humanitarian assistance (this role must be independent of a CHS Alliance member and in line with this Terms of Reference)
For this election, we are particularly looking for:
- Understanding of, and engagement in, major humanitarian policy discussions
- Expertise and skills in the areas of financial literacy and human resources
- Experience in complaints, investigations and safeguarding
- Leadership of humanitarian programming
in addition to the skills and experience as outlined in the nominations pack.
The process to nominate and elect members of the CHS Alliance Board will be in accordance with the CHS Alliance Statutes and CHS Alliance Board election process.

- Each CHS Alliance member can only submit one nomination for the CHS Alliance Board.
- Please submit your nomination using the form and send it to ga@chsalliance.org by midnight CEST 20 March 2026
- Nominations will be acknowledged during the week of 23 March 2026
Voting and Timelines
Focal points will be notified of candidates on 13 April 2026, with voting opening on 20 April 2026 and closing on 22 May 2026. Election results will be announced via an ad hoc General Assembly on 26 May 2026 and elected candidates will join the June Board meeting.
