Approved trainers scheme - qualifying criteria

The qualifying criteria for the CHS Alliance approved trainer scheme are listed below. Find out more about the scheme and the trainers here

Overall requirements for trainers:

  • Strong commitment to quality, accountability and good people management

  • Professional, mature and reflective approach

  • At least three years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development work

  • A university degree or equivalent qualification

  • Sound understanding of the subject matter

  • Facilitation skills and experience

*The supervised delivery of training would usually involve the candidate joining the facilitation team at a CHS Alliance workshop on that subject in a ‘trainee’ role.

** Exceptionally, for professional trainers only, attendance on the two-day CHS introductory course may be sufficient to meet this requirement. This is decided at the discretion of CHS Alliance.
