Core humanitarian competencies framework case study - Save the Children Bangladesh: Building national talents to respond to emergencies

Save the Children is building appropriate skills, knowledge and competence of 75 trainee staff to rapidly and efficiently support affected people in the humanitarian field through the humanitarian trainee scheme. The scheme uses the core humanitarian competencies framework at all levels. This case study was developed by the CHS Alliance as part of its 2016 review of the core humanitarian competencies framework for the Start Network Talent Development project.

Core humanitarian competencies framework case study - Lutheran World Relief: Competencies framework integrated in rapid response team’s policy and guidelines

Core humanitarian competencies framework case study - Islamic Relief: Using the competency framework to support HR

Islamic Relief implemented the core humanitarian competencies framework in 2014. This toolkit has been developed to support human resources (HR) practitioners in planning and developing an HR metrics dashboard. An HR metrics dashboard identifies and presents key human capital trends which can organisation can monitor and use to support programme and operational impact. It maps how to report on trends by developing and presenting them in a dashboard. The toolkit is aimed at supporting non-governmental organisations (NGOs) who may have never used this approach before.

Core humanitarian competencies framework case study - MzN International: Framework used to develop mid-level national agency staff

The competencies framework is used throughout the CONTEXT Humanitarian Staff Development Project that aims to develop core humanitarian expertise, as well as leadership and management skills for existing personnel at the national level. In Bangladesh, the programme is delivered and implemented by MzN International. Case study: ActionAid International's people management scorecard

ActionAid’s people management scorecard was created as a mechanism to collect people management information from different sources and track a country’s progress in HR over a period of time.
