The CHS Alliance in 2015 - a year of change


2015 was a busy and exciting time for the CHS Alliance which came into being on 9 June 2015 at its Constitutive General Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya. Over the past six months, the Alliance team has supported members and the wider humanitarian and development sector in applying the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and broader aspects of quality, accountability and people management.

New online resource centre launches


Our new resource centre has launched with over 1000 quality, accountability, and people management resources to support humanitarian and development practitioners. The centre brings together the extensive HAP International and People In Aid online libraries following their merger, as well as new resources aligned to the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS).

Core Humanitarian Standard now available in Khmer


The Standard was translated into Khmer by HANet Cambodia, and the CHS management team would like to thank HANet Cambodia for their tireless work in translating and designing the Khmer language version of the CHS, which will be an invaluable resource for the community of humanitarian and development organisations working in Cambodia.

London launch of the CHS Alliance highlights sector engagement around how to improve aid effectiveness


The London launch of the CHS Alliance took place yesterday, 21 September 2015, with nearly 60 key humanitarian and development players in attendance. The event explored ways to deliver effective aid responses in relation to the 2015 Humanitarian Accountability Report: On the Road to Istanbul, the World Humanitarian Summit, and the Alliance’s mandate to improve quality, accountability and people management.
