Join the CHS Alliance’s very first online Humanitarian Human Resources (HHR) conference for four half days from 3 to 6 November 2020.

HHR2020 will be an innovative and interactive online gathering for a growing global community of HR practitioners, researchers, experts and people leaders collaborating to reflect and learn from each other as well as develop practical solutions.

The goal of this year’s HHR is to raise awareness of the main lessons learnt from COVID-19 and together re-imagine the future of aid work.

We invite humanitarian and development HR professionals, as well as those from academia and who provide services or consulting in the field of people management to participate. All attendees will be encouraged to share their experiences, research findings, and insights with each other. As a collective HHR participants will forge new networks and establish strong partnerships to shape the future of aid work post COVID-19.

What are the dates and timings of HHR2020?

We know how tiring the screen time can be and how precious your engagement is, so we have decided this year’s conference will take place over four half days from 3 to 6 November 2020.

What does the registration fee include?

The registration fee includes admission to the online conference, enabling you to login and access the conference sessions in real-time. It also gives you access to session recordings and resources for 90 days post-event.

How do I register?

When should I register?

Register as soon as you can! Be sure to check for registration discounts because there are several—including early bird, membership and group discounts—for which you may qualify. Register here.

When is the last day I can register?

Registration is open until either:

  • the conference sells out or
  • one week before the start of the conference.

Online registration closes on 26 October 2020 at 12:00 CEST.

How can I pay the registration fee?

We accept payment via credit card or wire transfer. Payment instructions can be found at the bottom of your invoice/order confirmation. If you do not receive an invoice after registering, please contact us at hhr@chsalliance.org

Do I have to pay by a certain date?

Payment is due immediately. If payment is not received within five business days after your registration, CHS Alliance reserves the right to cancel your registration.

How can I take advantage of the group discount?

One free place is offered for a purchase of every three places from the same CHS Alliance member organisation or partner.

Can I only pay for the sessions that I want to attend?

Sorry, but we you cannot purchase access to specific sessions. HHR2020 registration gives you a four-day pass to the entire event.

Are the sessions being recorded?

All sessions will be recorded and made available to all HHR2020 participants for 90 days post-event.

Do I need to register for a session in advance?

Yes. Once you have registered for the whole conference, you will receive access to the conference programme and will be able to register for the daily parallel sessions of your choice.

 

I registered online – now what?

You will receive an email confirming registration with copy of your invoice for completed payments if you used a credit card, or you will receive an invoice for payment within five business days if you choose to pay by wire transfer.

Can I chair or speak at a session at HHR2020?

Yes. Similar to last year’s HHR, we invite conference participants to chair or speak at a session and submit their session proposal. To learn more about HHR2020 call for sessions’ guidelines, click here.

Do I get a special discount if I present at HHR2020?

Sorry, we do not offer discounts to HHR conference participants who chair or speak in a  session. We encourage you to benefit from our early bird or group discount.

Do I receive a certificate for attending the conference?

Not automatically. Those who require one will be issued a certificate of attendance upon request by writing to hhr@chsalliance.org.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

  • For cancellations on or before 11 September 2020, we will issue a 75% refund of the amount of your registration fee.
  • For cancellations on or before 2 October 2020, we will issue a 50% refund of the amount of your registration fee.
  • For cancellations from 2 October to 2 November 2020 or a No Show, a 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Can I send someone else in my place?

Substitutions are welcome at any time. If you have benefited from a group discount, your substitute must be from the same organisation as you. Please send your request via e-mail to hhr@chsalliance.org indicating the name of the original registrant and the name/contact information for the substitute attendee. Note that registrations cannot be shared (i.e., the registration cannot be split amongst multiple attendees).
