Through the eyes of affected people: a systematic investment in accountability is needed


This morning CHS Alliance Executive Director Tanya Wood moderated one of the first panel discussions of the ECOSOC Humanitarian Affairs Segment held in Geneva. Panellists considered how - three years after the Grand Bargain was struck in Istanbul at the World Humanitarian Summit - signatories were making good (or not) on their commitments to be accountable to affected people and carry out joint needs assessments.

Member of the Month: The Adventist Development and Relief Agency

Using people's perceptions to better manage humanitarian response: a ground-breaking model worth replicating


Since January 2018 the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) in Chad has used a common platform to track the views of people and communities affected by crisis about their collective action. The project has started an important discussion within the humanitarian community in Chad on how to more systematically collect and use community perceptions to inform the deliverables of the humanitarian response, as well as how to best engage communities.
