The Human Resources (HR) Toolkit for Small and Medium Nonprofit Actors provides a series of tips and tools to improve people management in the humanitarian and development sectors. Members can download it in the resource library.
The CHS Guidance Notes and Indicators are now available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic and can be downloaded from the Core Humanitarian Standard website. These guidance notes were developed in close collaboration with the Sphere Project and Groupe URD.
This HR manual, revised and updated by the CHS Alliance in partnership with Radhika Bhagat of Manifest UK, has been designed for use by HR teams in the humanitarian and development sector, as well as programme managers involved in setting up new programme offices and managing human resources in the field. The manual is free for members and costs £75 for non-members. It can be downloaded in the resource library.
The guidelines for investigations are designed to assist those in humanitarian and development contexts who conduct or manage investigations into serious allegations, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), fraud and corruption, committed by humanitarian and development staff. They provide an overview of the key steps and issues organisations should consider, as well as identifying potential difficulties and offering practical solutions. Conducting a CHS self-assessment is the first step organisations should take when committing to work in line with the Nine Commitments of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). The self-assessment tool provides guidance and advice for organisations going through such an exercise, as well as templates allowing them to collect information, document evidence, and present results. This training handbook is used by CHS Alliance trainers during our two-day Introduction to the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) workshop. It is now available to download (in Arabic, English, French and Spanish) for those who want to design and/or deliver training on the CHS. The handbook contains an overview of the training programme, a break-down of sessions on each of the Standard's Nine Commitments, notes for training facilitators, and templates and worksheets for activities. This staff survey toolkit is designed for organisations and departments undertaking employee surveys. It has been developed by the CHS Alliance and Agenda Consulting - experts in staff and volunteer surveys and benchmarking studies. The toolkit contains guidelines outlining the process to follow step-by-step, whether you decide to run it in-house or out-source it, as well as a template to adapt and use. The toolkit is free for members and costs £75 for non-members. It can be downloaded in the resource libary.
The introduction to the CHS online course was developed through a collaborative process with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), the Sphere Project, Groupe URD and IECAH. This online course is available in English and French and takes approx one hour to complete.
The CHS self-assessment online course was developed in partnership with IECAH and with the support of the German Governement.This online course is available in English and takes four hours to complete, but it can be done at your own pace.
Our PSEA Implementation Quick Reference Handbook is written by experienced practitioners, Corinne Davey and Lucy Heaven Taylor, of GCPS Consulting. It comprises short chapters covering the key information on all aspects of implementing PSEA work. It is available to download from here.
