Corinne Davey is an international development consultant, with a professional background in Human Resources and Organisation Development and an expertise in safeguarding. Corinne has worked with a number of international development organisations including Keeping Children Safe, Plan, EveryChild and HelpAge. In her role as Director of Keeping Children Safe she redesigned international standards for child safeguarding, wrote a series of resources to support these standards and introduced new services, including safeguarding certification. Corinne also led on high profile safeguarding initiatives including the first ever child safeguarding conference which focused on successes and challenges for safeguarding children in Africa. Since returning to consultancy full time, a significant amount of her time has been spent supporting organisations in the Middle East to develop or strengthen PSEA and safeguarding measures, particularly with regard to work with Syrian refugees or IDPs and managing the challenges of preventing and responding to safeguarding and PSEA issues remotely. Corinne has also been working with organisations to strengthen the design and delivery of programmes to ensure they are safe for children and communities. Most recently this has involved integrating a gender responsive approach to safeguarding children participating in, or impacted by, programming and advocacy work. Corinne has worked with CHS Alliance to deliver training on the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and has supported organisations to integrate the CHS into their organisational strategies and quality and accountability commitments.
