David Owen has over 30 years of experience as an independent trial lawyer/barrister in the UK. He therefore offers the unique combination of practical experience with the technical knowledge of how to conduct an effective investigation. He has prosecuted and defended every type of criminal case, including murder, rape, child sexual exploitation and abuse, drug supply, fraud and gender based violence. As a Senior Prosecutor he has managed many investigations from arrest to conviction. Since 2011 he has been training judges, lawyers, social workers, child psychologists and doctors in developing countries in many areas of criminal law practice, procedure and implementation, including child protection, on behalf of UNICEF, the UK Foreign Office and national NGOs. David now offers that experience to members of the CHS Alliance as an investigations trainer.
