Läkarmissionen
Läkarmissionen is an aid organisation that promotes sustainable poverty reduction from a human-rights perspective. Läkarmissionen is not affiliated to any religious or political group. VISION - "Dignified life – sustainable world" • By dignified life, we mean that all humans are unique and of equal value, and that every human has the right to be empowered and influence their own lives. • By sustainable world, we mean a world that is socially, economically and environmentally sustainable, i.e. that development meets current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Priority must be given to the basic needs of the impoverished people around the world. MISSION - "To save lives and empower people"
THEMATIC AREAS Läkarmissionen aims to contribute to the Global Goals (SDGs). On the basis of our purpose (in our statutes), our knowledge and our history as well as the needs in the priority geographical areas, our primary aim is to focus on Goal 1 No Poverty, Goal 3 Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4 Quality Education, and Goal 6 Clean Water and Sanitation. Läkarmissionen’s statutes contain an orientation towards health, while IAS primarily has knowledge and experience of working with WASH. In many aid efforts and projects, we have been involved in education or training/skills development. We intend to continue in education and skills as we see education and learning as fundamental to social development and to a sustainable society. GLOBAL GOALS - That more individuals have access to clean water - That more individuals have a better standard of health - That more individuals have literacy skills
