Human Resources (HR) Package

The Human Resources (HR) Support Package provides CHS Alliance members with a series of tips and tools to improve people management in the humanitarian and development sectors.

Good HR practice is a key element of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), which requires that “communities and people affected by crisis receive the assistance they require from competent and well-managed staff and volunteers.” From this perspective, the HR Support package aims to help members meet Commitment 8 of the CHS, while boosting organisational effectiveness.

A tactical resource informed by good practices to help enhancing and formalising people management practices, the package consists of three elements:

  1. Tools and resources including templates and manuals;
  2. An online peer community to encourage social learning and exchange of experiences;
  3. Facilitated access to a pool of pro-bono experts to share advice and answer specific HR questions.
