The impact of the CHS on US higher education

CHS Alliance, in partnership with Talent Development and the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), is running a free webinar session for Jordan-based human resources (HR) staff and managers on 08 August, followed by a free training day in Amman on 17 August. These events aim to promote the use of competency-based HR and the Core Humanitarian Competencies Framework (CHCF) in the NGO sector in Jordan.  

The webinar will introduce competency based HR and CHCF, participants will then be invited to attend a day training on competency-based recruitment and selection methods/tools, as well as staff development planning methods/tools. Both these events are free and open to HR staff, managers and employees based in Jordan and who would like to introduce the CHCF to their respective organisations.

Competency-based HR can help an organisation select, develop and manage staff in an efficient, fair and strategic manner. Producing competent and well-managed staff in turn leads to accountable and effective humanitarian and development work. The Core Humanitarian Competency Framework (CHCF) was developed in 2010 to provide humanitarian organisations with a common set of behaviours that have proven to be effective in responses. Since then it has been adopted by many organisations proving to add value and increase efficiency for its users. 

These training initiatves take place in the context of the promotion of the use of competency-based HR and the CHCF in humanitarian and development sectors in the NGO sector in Jordan It is made possible by Start NetworkHumanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) and PHAP

Webinar: Introducing competency-based HR and the CHCF

HR Training Day: Competency-based recruitment, selection and staff development

Duration: 5 hours

Overview: The session will lead on from the webinar and train participants on the use of competency-based tools for recruitment and selection (including the STAR interview method, asking CHCF- based questions, analysing and recording responses and results). The session will also cover how to assess an individual's and team's strengths and weaknesses against the CHCF.

Pas même la toute puissante Ponctuation ne régit les Bolos Bolos - une vie on ne peut moins orthodoxographique. Un jour pourtant, une petite ligne de Bolo Bolo du nom de Lorem Ipsum décida de s'aventurer dans la vaste Grammaire. Le grand Oxymore voulut l'en dissuader, le prevenant que là-bas cela fourmillait de vils Virgulos, de sauvages Pointdexclamators et de sournois Semicolons qui l'attendraient pour sûr au prochain paragraphe, mais ces mots ne firent écho dans l'oreille du petit Bolo qui ne se laissa point déconcerter.
