Developing professional certifications for humanitarian practitioners

He has professional experience in IT management and development from the private sector and NGOs, as well as with government, EU, and UN actors.

The impact of the CHS on US higher education

Tom Arcaro is a professor of sociology at Elon University, North Carolina, and founder of Elon's Periclean Scholars program. He has been researching and studying aid and development issues for nearly two decades and most recently published 'Aid Worker Voices' (2016). He is currently working on a second book tentatively titled 'Local Aid Worker Voices.' He is also working on implementing a vetting system for community-based learning (both domestic and international) that will ensure the highest ethical pedagogical practices.
